In The City

In-the-city

Lemme tell you. Reason I've not kept up with the promise of the site's name is isn't largely due to not working on anything. Far from it. I've worked on various visual pieces but refused to post them due to not finding them good enough. But I've resolved to do away with the "eye of the beholder" argument and just post whatever results I come up with. It would be nice to see what responses I get from anything I post. Makes things way less complicated that how I perceive it.

So here we go.

Strippers In Space

Finally. A graphic project that's not a photography cop out.

I've seen enough from the spacey galaxy concepts from Flickr and the usual graphic blogs in my RSS feed and decided to have a go. I suppose it also means activity in the workplace has slowed down too. Pic is of an actual stripper from an adult expo I attended over the weekend. All other assets were sourced in Google images. Most likely from DeviantArt.

World Pyro Olympics

Yeah. Won't lie to ya. Photography has been the majority of my creative outlets as of late. Some posts have centered around that then the site kinda went dead for a few weeks. I guess I was hoping a graphic project would spark up in that time when really, I've been going out and shooting more and more. So to fill the gap between graphic work, may post more and more photography hijinks.

But here's some pics from the recent World Pyro Olympics. Already featured on my Flickr but thought they get some spotlight here too. As explained when posted in Flickr, I was going for a different direction in capturing the 'splosions in the sky. Played a lot with timed exposures and sudden zooming. Took some time to then revisit these shots and find they aren't all that bad. So here you go.

Lonely Sunday Light Graffiti

First off, apologies for the past few weeks of non posting. Office work has consumed me with actual creative projects. Anyhoo...

Light painting/graffiti isn't all new to me. It took these cheap light saber knockoffs I got at a recent toy warehouse sale to inspire me to have another round with this medium. My current streak of not having any plans during weekends sorta helped too. But I digress.

Somehow, over the course of this project, I took off my shorts. Did you notice? Sorry.

The Physics of Skateboarding

Two things happened over the weekend: I had just seen Stranger than Fiction again and I attended a local skateboarding exhibition. Of the former, I love the motifs of mathematical and geometrical data popping all over the place and wanted to have a go applying that to pics I had taken from the latter. Hence the resulting batch of images. Just don't take me up on the actual physics of it all. Those are just random equations I found online. Again, so much for mystery, yeah?
